YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Courtney Chase

In 2010 yoga found Courtney. In her very first class she felt something she had never felt before, a powerful moment of pure stillness and peace that inspired her to keep coming back to her mat. As her practice grew, so did her desire to teach.

Courtney received her training from Trimurti Yoga in Dharamsala, India. The 5 week journey she took in the motherland of yoga has forever instilled in her how beneficial yoga can be. Ever since, she has continued to broaden and deepen her practice with the guidance of many amazing teachers from different traditions. Their training, along with her own ever present desire to learn, has made her a diverse instructor. Courtney is experienced in leading the gentle practices of yin & restorative, more powerful practices including vinyasa, ashtanga & sivananda, and meditation. She is known for her ability to help guide students to dive deeper into their practice and find awareness on and off their mats. She also specializes in private one-on-one sessions to truly mold the practice to the student’s individual needs. She is passionate about finding balance and cares deeply about sharing the many healing aspects of yoga.

Courtney is an owner of Sky Yoga & Wellness, a boutique studio in Skaneateles, New York. She blends her skills as a yoga teacher and as a fitness professional to help guide others to find their own balance. She is a 200 hour multi style Registered Yoga Teacher, certified Personal Trainer and also carries certifications in pilates, group exercise, indoor cycling, the willPower Method, as well as various other specialty fitness programs.

Whether you are stepping onto your mat for the very first time or looking to deepen your practice, she looks forward to meeting you where you are…

Christine Bartolotta

Christine Bartolotta is a native of Auburn, New York, where she currently resides with her wonderful husband, Anthony, and their three beautiful children. Christine has always had a passion for the arts, both fine and performing. She started formal dance training at the age of four and thus began her love affair with movement.  The freedom of expression and powerful release that dancing provided was exhilarating!  Her experience also helped to deepen her understanding of the human body and its relationship to the space around us. This connection only deepened and grew when Christine discovered yoga. In her early 20’s, Christine started practicing yoga and was hooked! She was captivated by both the physical and spiritual results that yoga helped her achieve. With both yoga and dance she found it possible to gain perfect harmony of the mind, the body and the soul. Filled with gratitude and inspired to share with others, Christine began her career in wellness. Currently, she holds certificates in Booty Barre (also trained in Ballet Barre Methodology and Floor Technique), Original Yoga, Power Yoga, Pilates/Pilates Mat, PiYo, Zumba and other dance based fitness programs.

Today, Christine's excitement to share her passion for wellness and the joy it brings to her life with others has only grown!

Jessie Brown

Yoga has been a part of Jessie's life for over ten years. As she traveled along the journey of life and delved more deeply into her practice. She realized her desire to empower and inspire others through teaching. She completed her 200 hour certification with the Boston Yoga School in 2015.  Her teaching style seeks to benefit the whole individual, and emphasize the true philosophy of yoga. Uniting the body, mind, and spirit. She believes in igniting the body and breath through powerful and restorative postures. Her love for yoga is eternal, and her energy, vibrant. When practicing yoga Jessie exudes peace and gratitude, and wishes to open each of her students up to experience the calm, the serenity, the openness, the vulnerability, the gift that yoga is.

Carol Bryant

Carol began practicing yoga in 2006, during a particularly challenging period in her life. By coincidence – or not – she tried a yin yoga class and instantly felt at home. The breath work, deep stretching, and inner awareness of yin helped her find peace and strength, healing her body, mind, and soul. After practicing yin almost exclusively for seven years, Carol realized she needed to balance her flexibility with strength, and began to explore more active yoga styles. Iyengar based classes emphasizing alignment resonated the most strongly, and continue to be the foundation of her practice. A career music educator and performer, Carol naturally wanted to share her passion for yoga with others, and completed her 200-hour certification with Ame Wren and the Boston Yoga School in 2019. Influential teachers along her yoga journey include Tina Ramsden, Alexis Pierce, Courtney Chase, Christine Bartolotta, and Kari Williams, and she has attended workshops at Kripalu and Omega with Sudha Carolyn Lundeen, Daniel Orlansky, and Todd Norian. Carol is especially interested in yoga’s benefits for musicians and others whose asymmetrical work postures or habits create imbalances within the body. She is also dedicated to helping older adults find more freedom of movement and strength, maintaining and improving overall health, and discovering that we can actually feel better as we age.

Mary Daniszewski

Sound meditation has become a joyous and integral part of my life. I am a student and a practitioner, daily learning something about the instruments and myself on this journey. I am truly honored to create and share these sacred sounds!

In August of 2018, I completed the Om Sound Medicine Training Module One Alchemy Bowls with Saraswati Om, Founder and Alchemy Bowl Master at Dharma Yoga Center in Liverpool NY. I am currently enrolled in the Sacred Sound Medicine Training, Foundations of the Gong, again with Saraswati Om as my teacher. After I played the Sound Creation Gong, i just knew it was part of my life, part of my path. The alchemy bowls and the gong are family.

With words, wisdom and practice, I strive to see, listen and love the way Divine intended. I strive to remember.

Tom Dobmeier

Tom found yoga shortly after retiring from a career as an engineer in 2014. In 2017 he began attending classes at Sky Yoga & Wellness, where the world of yoga opened up to him. With the encouragement of several of his teachers and his family, Tom enrolled in and completed his 200 hour certification through the Boston Yoga School, directed by Ame Wren. He enjoys learning from others and sharing those experiences with his students. His classes center on practicing with a strong foundation and proper alignment while experiencing the freedom and joy of discovering movement of the body. He stresses the importance of honoring the journey of yoga in order to develop a sustainable practice, while still challenging oneself for the sake of growth. A bit of humor helps as well. Tom feels blessed to have found several wonderful teachers locally and is proud and happy to call Sky Yoga his home.

Terry Ross

Terry, owner of TRYOGA in Binghamton and Syracuse, brings his enthusiasm and love of yoga combined with knowledge of body alignment and mechanics to each practice.

He has devoted twenty years to studying and integrating yoga into his life. Yoga is his passion. His classes are fun and playful with easy-to-follow instructions, encouraging students of all levels to work deeply while honoring their own practice, working within their limitations yet helping them reach and go beyond their edge.

He began teaching yoga in 2011, primarily focusing on the physical aspects of yoga. It wasn't until he met Baron Baptiste in 2012 that he fully realized he could get a total workout through Baptiste Yoga - body, mind AND soul. He completed his 500 hours of training under the tutelage of Baron and The Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. Terry now spends his life teaching the Baptiste Journey Into Power Sequence and a class called YOD(Your Own Determination), which combines power yoga and plyometrics. Whenever he can, he continues to assist teacher trainings around the country with Baron and the amazing people of the Baptiste family.

Terry began practicing Yoga to make a positive change in his life. Through his teaching, he hopes to make a positive change in other people's lives as well.

Julie Scuderi

Julie found her practice in 2003 when she serendipitously picked up Baron Baptiste’s newly published book, Journey Into Power.  Busy raising 4 children, she fit in her practice where and whenever possible. Baptiste yoga has been her tried and true yogic footprint, and she leads her students on a journey to their own power. For, as Baron Baptiste suggests, when we discover our physical strength we become aware of the possibilities our lives offer, from that sense of possibility we are lead to self-empowerment, moving toward finding our highest potential. In 2016 she completed two Baptiste advanced teacher-training programs and became a certified Baptiste teacher in October of 2017.   She recently returned from Africa, where she was part of a team of yogis serving and empowering Kenyans of all ages through Africa Yoga Project.

Forever a student of life, as she opens the doors of her own self- discovery, she mirrors that to her students. Yoga means to yoke, to unite, to make whole; Julie provides the tools to unite her students back to their true selves, each other, and all of humanity.  We are one.

Kari Williams

Kari has a passion for wellness. She has achieved many personal goals from becoming fit and getting back into shape after her pregnancies to completing several runs and triathlons. However, as a busy mother of four, Kari was craving an outlet that would help her feel healthy and strong while giving her the solace to unwind and reconnect body, mind, and spirit. She began her practice of yoga as just another avenue for fitness and flexibility but was amazed at how much more yoga provided.

Kari completed her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training with JudiAnn Cesta of East Street Yoga in July of 2015. Shortly after that, she had the opportunity to spend the year in San Diego, CA with her family. While in California, she completed a training in “Yoga Sculpt” with CowerPower Yoga of San Diego; a total body class that incorporates weights and cardio with a yoga foundation. She also recently completed a Yin Yoga Foundations course with Josh Summers at O yoga in Syracuse.

Kari is excited to have the opportunity to share her passion for yoga with the Sky community.
